There will be 45 wild Whooping Crane colts, including one pair of what some call “twins”, making their first migration from Wood Buffalo National Park to Aransas National Wildlife Refuge this fall. CWS and Parks Canada have completed their Fledgling Surveys on WBNP. Conditions and habitat on the nesting grounds are excellent and healthy. The photo below, taking by John McKinnon, (Parks Canada / Wood Buffalo National Park), shows there is plenty of water. More details to come.
